Conceived with the idea of reducing the travel time between Delhi and Agra, the Yamuna Expressway Project between Greater Noida and Agra, the longest Access Controlled six lane (extendable to eight lanes) concrete pavement expressway was conceived by Government of Uttar Pradesh in the year 2001. In a first for military aviation in India, Indian Air Force on May 21, 2015 successfully landed a French Dassault Mirage-2000 on the Yamuna Expressway near Raya village, Mathura

The T2 is home to India’s largest public art programme, titled ‘Jaya He’, in the form of a 3.2 km multi-storey Art Wall, illuminated by skylights, that has over 5000 pieces of artwork and artifacts from every region & corner of India.

The first phase of the metro rail in Mumbai covers a 11.4 km stretch with trains every 4 minutes. With the total cost going upwards of Rs. 4,321 crores, an estimated 1.5 million people use the services of the Metro on a daily basis. It has helped cut down the travel time to a third of what it was along the same route prior to the metro.

With lines along two corridors covering a total length of 45.1 km , upon completion, the Chennai Metro will be the first metro project in India that will integrate the other public transport systems. The project is expected to reduce the travel time from one end of the city to the other by about 75%.

The Madras Atomic Power station at Kalapakkam, Tamil Nadu is the first fully indigenously constructed nuclear power plant. A beachhead at Kalapakkm also hosts India’s first indigenous Pressurised (light) water reactor. The 80 MW reactor was developed by BARC as the land based prototype of the Nuclear Power unit for India’s nuclear submarines.

Ever since the first test was played on the ground in the 1974-75 season, the iconic Wankhede stadium in Mumbai has been the venue for a number of memorable moments in the history of Indian cricket. The stadium can accommodate approximately 33000 spectators and has stands named after famous Indian cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and Vijay Merchant. One of the highlights of the stadium is the suspended cantilever roofs. No beam supports on the roofs ensure better view for the spectators.

The T3 has six common check-in islands with 168 check-in counters.

With a capacity of 3340 MW, the plant is the largest power plant in the state, accounting for about 25% of the total power requirement of the state. It has been in operation since 1984.

The Kakarapar Atomic Power Plant is in the city of Vyra in the state of Gujarat. It consists of two 220 MW pressurised water reactors with heavy water as moderator. The first unit of the plant started operations in the year 1993. It was also the scene of radioactive leak in March 2016, though the safety mechanisms ensured that the leak was not harmful.

The Vallur Thermal Power Station Project in the state of Tamil Nadu has three units with 500 MW capacity each. The first stage of the project was commissioned in 2012. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the power generated is also supplied to the states of Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry.

The Nashik Elevated Corridor Project consists of a 6.1 km long elevated corridor bypassing the thickly populated Nashik city. It lies on National Highway 3 and connects Mumbai to the states of UP, MP and West Bengal among others. This project is the second longest elevated corridor in Maharashtra and the third longest in India. Also known as Nashik’s flyover to progress, it was inaugurated in June 2013.

The Mumbai Monorail is the first monorail in India since the Kundala Valley Railway and Patiala State Monorail Trainways were closed in the 1920s. It was first opened to public in February 2014. On completion of all phases, the Mumbai Monorail is poised to become the world’s second longest monorail system after the Osaka Monorail Main Line, Japan.

The Kattupalli Shipyard cum Captive Port Complex is a large shipyard project at Kattupalli village near Ennore of Chennai. When fully completed, it will be the largest shipyard in Asia. The Kattupalli yard is mainly built for making warships and to augment the existing capacity at Hazira in Gujarat for sub-marines. A draft of up to 14 m and a waterfront exceeding 2.2 km makes the facility well suited to building large defence ships.
